We’ll set sail from Sant Antoni and we’ll head to the nature reserves to the west of Ibiza. Skirting the islands of Sa Conillera and Es Bosc, we’ll drop anchor in a slice of paradise on Earth, with its turquoise-blue waters and white sandy bottoms. During this one-hour stop, dive into Ibiza's most crystal-clear waters and admire the blue Mediterranean horizon with its breathtaking views. You can also swim, snorkel, paddle board, relax on the floating air mattress while enjoying a cold drink or simply enjoy your time in this gorgeous spot. After our stay, we’ll weigh anchor and hug the coastline towards Cala Bassa. We’ll sail through the waters of the lookout tower (Torre d'en Rovira) which was part of the early warning system in place to sight feared pirates and enemy ships in the 18th century. It warned the seven towers around the islands of the dangers lurking around the coastline in order to mount a strong defence against an attack.
We’ll weigh anchor and head towards the area where Café Mambo is, and in an area away from other vessels, we’ll enjoy one of the things that the island of Ibiza is famous for—the sunset in Sant Antoni, where thousands of people crowd to the coast to watch how the sun sinks into the water, turning it yellow to orange, and even red on some evenings. The beauty of this moment is such that the cameras of thousands of people along the coast flash on the horizon as if it were a penalty kick at a grand football final. With our vessel well away from the crowds, you can enjoy the peace and quiet, and bask in the moment that you’ll always remember all your life. Once the sun touches the horizon, we’ll serve ice-cold cava and put some chillout music on. After the sun disappears below the horizon, you can admire the twilight, with its blend of violet hues that signal the start of a night on Ibiza.
This will be our last stop to admire Ibiza’s most famous and beautiful sunset—the iconic sunset in Sant Antoni is the most photographed and shared image of Ibiza in social media.
The history behind this popular pastime of admiring the sunset on the coast of Sant Antoni dates back to the 1980s, when venues such as the legendary Café del Mar and the now-defunct Rey de Copas, and now the Mambo Group's Mint started a habit among the general public to go to Sant Antoni to admire this magical natural phenomenon at the end of the day, as the sun disappeared into the blue waters around the island of Ibiza. This in turn gave rise to a musical genre that has now crossed borders—the chillout music that Ibiza is known for—, thanks to its creator José Padilla, who left this world not so long ago after an illness that few people overcome.
Staying in this picture-perfect place will evoke an almost-mystical feeling as you watch how the sun drops towards the blue-violet horizon and is swallowed by the turquoise-blue waters of Ibiza, creating a magnificent play of colours during twilight, which you can admire and toast to with an ice-cold glass of cava.
